Locked periods and permissions

MessageWhat to do
The books are locked up to [date]…The date is on or before the lock date. Use a later date, or ask an administrator to change the lock date.
Only an administrator can change the lock date.Ask an administrator to do it from Accounting settings.
You do not have permission to perform this action.Your role does not allow it. Ask an administrator for access.

Payments and transfers

MessageWhat to do
Payment ([amount]) exceeds the amount due ([amount]) on [number].Enter no more than the balance due. For an overpayment, record the extra separately.
A [currency] document can only be paid from a [currency] or [base currency] account.Choose a bank account in the document’s currency or your base currency.
Set an exchange rate for [currency] on or before [date] (Accounting > Currencies).Add a rate for that currency dated on or before the transaction. See Multi-currency.
Payment amount must be greater than zero.Enter an amount above zero.
Choose two different accounts.A transfer needs a from and a to account that are not the same.
Enter the amount received in [currency].For a transfer between currencies, enter what the other account received.

Bank transactions and reconciliation

MessageWhat to do
Line amounts ([x]) must add up to [y].The split lines must total the bank line. Adjust the amounts.
Add at least one line with an account.Every transaction needs at least one line with an account chosen.
Select at least one item to match.Tick an invoice, bill or transaction on the Match tab, or use Create instead.
This statement line is already reconciled.It has already been matched. Use Undo on the Reconciled tab if it is wrong.
Undo the reconciliation before deleting the line.Unreconcile the line first, then delete it.
This statement has reconciled lines. Undo the reconciliation first.Unreconcile its lines before deleting the statement.

Bank rules

MessageWhat to do
Give the rule a name. / Add at least one condition.A rule needs a name and a condition.
Add at least one allocation (account) for this rule.Choose the account the rule codes to.
Allocation percentages must add up to 100%.Adjust the split so it totals 100%.
Choose the account to transfer to.Transfer rules need the other account.

Setup, tax and accounts

MessageWhat to do
An active account with this name (or code) already exists for this business.Choose a different name or code, or make the other account inactive.
A tax rate with same name and liability account already exists.Change the name or open the existing rate.
Cannot modify this tax rate because it is used in invoices.Create a new rate instead, so past figures never change.
Currency changes are not allowed.The base currency cannot be changed after a business is created. Other details still save.
The exchange rate must be greater than zero. / The base currency always has a rate of 1.Enter a positive rate, and do not add a rate for your base currency.
A revaluation has already been posted for this date. Delete it first to run it again.Delete the earlier revaluation for that date, then run it again.
Only the most recent depreciation run can be deleted.Delete the later runs first, working back.
Turn on inventory tracking for this item first.Open the product and tick Track inventory.

People and invitations
