What to put on an invoice
Every UK invoice should have a unique number, the date, your details, your client's details, a clear description of what you supplied, the amount due, payment terms and how to pay. If you are VAT registered it must also show your VAT number and the VAT charged. See our guide to writing an invoice and the complete invoicing guide.
Need more than one-off invoices?
Accounting software numbers invoices for you, emails them, tracks payments and shows who is overdue. In AvrioBooks you also get credit notes, bank reconciliation and 25 reports. See AvrioBooks for freelancers.
